GENERAL MANAGER
based in Afghanistan
In this position you cooperate on the one side with the BU managers on site and on the other side with the division managers in the headquarters. Besides day-to-day management of the site (in total 1,500 employees) you report to the headquarters. As an experienced manager you are responsible for the safety, security and health of your staff and take care of their life support requirements. As the number one on site you insure that the group rules are adhered to. 

Other responsibilities:
  • Negotiation with suppliers
  • Customer liaison with senior management from each BU
  • Assignment and delegation of responsibility for work assignments or functional activities and disseminates policies and objectives to staff.
  • Organization of resources to ensure effective delivery of goods and services.
  • Provision of work direction &resolution of problems,
  • Coordination of activities between the departments
  • Overseeing arrival, retrofit and upgrade of equipment/material leaving and destined for other site use
  • Overseeing sub-contract agreements with local companies providing labor, equipment and supplies
  • Planning and conducting required logistical operations for staff.
You are/you have: 
  • Leadership skills (especially regarding managing multiple subordinates in a high pressure, contingency environment)
  • Able to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Extensive experience supporting customer initiatives with a proven track record of attaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • IT skill (especially spreadsheets and presentations)
  • A multi-tasking person who takes independent actions where and when required.
  • Solid problem solving skills.
  • Understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully to respective parties.
  • The power to motivate your team
  • The experience to mitigate team conflict and communication problems.
